Rynn Rubi
Rynn Alexander Rubi is a Filipino-American born in Bellflower, California in October of 1996. He began writing and recording music in the year 2012 as the age of 16. Initially he went by the name ‘RubyRaptus’, in which later, he ended up converting his stage name into his real name “Rynn Rubi”, because he felt every song was a part of him and it was the only right thing to do and to go with his real name.
Rynn Rubi signed with Gomfu Entertainment a year later in 2013. Thus far Rynn Rubi has released 3 projects titled Omagus Funk, Positione, and his 1st official studio project titled “IntroVerse. “ Rynn’s next single is entitled “NoOne Else Around” Produced by Reza, which will be releasing April 21st, 2015 on the Gomfu Underground Channel album.
Rynn Rubi states, “ My alter egos are my ego and my doubts.” He continues, “ What I love about my type of music is that it is very versatile and I make music based on feelings. My feelings and emotions vary from both extremes which gives me space to create anything I want. Also, I think everybody feels at least one of my feelings which can lead to them relating to my music plus much more.”
Rynn Rubi’s music is real hip-hop. He first fell in love with rapping when he was 12 years old and heard a song called ‘Day n Nite’ by Kid Cudi on the radio. Rynn Rubi instantly connected with the music; the way the artist connected with the beat immediately attracted him towards this type of music.
Rynn has many influences, including, Kid Cudi, J Cole, Kendrick, Nas, Blu, OutKast, Chance the Rapper, Blu, Muse, Kali Uchis, Jhene Aiko, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Drake, Mick Jenkins, Meek Mill and PartNextDoor.
Rynn Rubi states “ I can change music with my perspective on life from not only being a first generation Filipino American but also how I know people in college and people in the streets. This gives me the ability to see different perspectives. I believe I can also inspire other people in many ways and help people who feel alone. I want my music to affect people in more than one way. I want music that will affect how people feel, inspire them to make progressive changes to the world, at the same time, making songs that people will enjoy to hear and can use as an outlet from their problems.”
Rynn’s peers describe him as a low-key dude who likes to observe more than he speaks or interacts with people. However, once he does open up all of his thoughts, he begins to come out his shell and speaks a little too much!
Rynn Rubi is a true introvert with a passion for creating and sharing his creations with the world. Rynn Rubi is a person just trying to understand life while sharing the journey with others. His main goal is to uplift people and eventually change the world that he is trying to understand.
